Cambie Tote:
The Cambie Tote uses the functional aesthetics of outdoor apparel and gear to reimagine the everyday tote bag as a durable and versatile carry all for Vancouver’s active lifestyle. Designed for work, groceries, and day trips, the bag uses technical nylon and durable construction methods to prepare users for British Columbia’s everchanging weather. For organization, it features a large main compartment, front drop sleeve, and multiple pockets to support a daily activities while on the go.
Role & Process: Through defining a user profile, conducting research, and curating an inspiration board, the Cambie Tote explored concept sketching, card models, and early prototypes to develop its initial direction. Feedback informed by feasibility testing, pattern drafting, and technical drawings further refined the form, while hands-on industrial sewing, material choices, and hardware such as nylon, waterproof zippers, foam inserts, and seam tape ensure its durability and weather resistance.
